    Cigarettes Not Smoked

Bold, Don't give up on yourself. Keep going! Sounds like you are doing great. I lost my job after 1 1/2 yrs quit and I wanted to smoke. You only smoked two! TWO??? I hardly call that failing. Did you get rid of the rest? Just think, on your new interviews, you won't have to worry about wanting a cigarette. Where you find your next job, no one will know that you ever smoked. One day at a time, one step at a time. The only people who fail are those who quit trying. The key to success is not giving up. Bold, everyone is right. The biggest mistake I made in previous quits was NOT going back to the quit immediately. Just get that slip away from you and don't smoke anymore. That's the spirit! Good luck to you! Bold, don't worry about the days right now, just keep quitting. There are many debates about slips and when to reset, the only opinion that matters is yours, this is your quit. Think about this, that it didn't help, and think about what coping skills you can use next time you are in a stressful situation. What will you do, etc...keep your reasons in your shirt pocket and reach for them next time, my hubby did this, and it helped alot. I'm sorry to hear that you got laid off bold, that is a tough one, but it is also an even better reason not to smoke with the cost of cigarettes! Smoking didn't get you your job back, and I can see that your upset with yourself. So take that anger and knowledge and start a new and successful quit as soon as you can. We're here for you bold, when ever you need us. Man I had just had a horrible few days I found out that my job let off a bunch of people and I was one of them... so after I found this crap out I made a huge mistake and went to the store and brought a pack of smokes and had a few :( I just feel so dirty now that I let myself down. But I will be back and do better next time. I just cant believe I let the junkie beat me not sure how I feel right now just so so upset with myself...
