Nothing lasts forever, Ginnette. It may seem like you're doomed unless you smoke right now, but it does go away. Be good to yourself today.. pamper youself - have a reward. Rewards are very very important. The act of doing something good to yourself opens those receptors in your brain that nicotime formerly opened for you. Ginette, Sparky really said it all. Don't let one crave get the best of your quit. Tomorrow will be two weeks! Just do whatever it takes to get you through the next hour, then the next. You are doing great. Let us know how it's going, okay? Hi Ginette, It is amazing the control those little rolled up weeds can have on us, isn't it? Your mind gets consumed...ALL you want is to inhale poisonous smoke into your lungs! NOOOOOO, you don't really want that Ginette. You want to stay smoke free. You want to be healthy, now and in the years to come. You want to be free! You can do this. DO NOT light that next cig and you will remain smoke free and victorious. You get throught his craving and it is one day closer to never having to feel this way again. The only way to make the cravings go away is not to smoke. Hang on, girl. Let us know how you are doing. new me My Milage: My Quit Date: 5/26/2007 Smoke-Free Days: 210 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 5,040 Amount Saved: $1,050.00 Life Gained: Days: 28 Hrs: 23 Mins: 32 Seconds: 33

Ginette, this is what the we were talking about. Please protect this quit. You are taking right actions by posting and going to see your friend. When I first quit days 9-14 or 15 were horrible for me. Hell week was a piece of cake compared to where you are now. For me, I think you get a little comfortable and think you have this quit under your belt. Not so. There are so many "firsts" that have to happen. I do believe that you really want this quit, so don't smoke for now and let tomorrow take care of itself. What I am doing for right now to help me get though this "holiday" season I make a promise to my deceased sister that I won't smoke today. You see she was so important to me and she lost her life to lung cancer and I want to honor her. She never broke a promise to me NEVER, so at least I can keep one today for her. Maybe you can honor someone today and promise not to smoke for them. It is working for me, maybe it could work for you or others. Ginette, You have done so well to get to where you have. Craves will come and go, but it will get better. Just remember NOPE, NOPE and NOPE again!! Ginette - I can relate - I have also been having intense cravings today! Bring out those straws (they really help), gum, bird seed, celery sticks and anything else that you feel can substitute that craving for the meantime. I know it's tough, but these cravings only last a few minutes at a time. Distract yourself, and remind yourself how well you've done, how much happier you are that you dont smoke, and how you are stronger than any cravings you will have! Keep it up, you're doing so well. Keep Strong Ginette! Talk to your friend and occupy yourself! Do what it takes not to cave and use those coping mechanisms to help you through! Make this about you and relax yourself if needed. This time of year can be very stressful, but it can also be a joyous one :) Josie, Support Specialist

I've hit a snag. I'm going through a terrible craving right now. I'm just besides myself. I'm going to go and talk to my friend Betty. And I hope you guys can get me through this. It's awful. I'm on my 13th day and I don't want to ruin it.
