Hypnotherapy

20 years ago 0 12 logo logo logo logo logo logo logo logo logo logo 0
Hello all, I am going to try Hypnotherapy as well, I have my first session next saturday. I have pretty much given up on my meds celexa and Xanax I actually think Celaxa is making me feel worse, so my Psychiatrist I have been taking half the dose for about 5 days now and I told him I want to get off this med which helped me at first ( I have been taking it for 1 year and the attacks came back in April) since then nothing has helped ( I also have a therapist). Years back I did a couple of sessions because I had gained weight after going through a divorce and it worked very well for that purpose. I am hoping this helps, I spoke to the Hypnotist and he told me he has treated many patients with anxiety and panic, we will see I will let you guys know. In the mean time thanks for posting it makes me feel like I am not the only person going through this.

Hi Guys, I actually tried hypnotherapy about 1 month ago and I was apprehensive at first, but I have had minimal panic since and am feeling more in control of the attacks. The post hypnotic suggestion that I was left with was to acknowledge the feeling and then just let it go and move on. ie) If I awake in the middle of the night with tension across my shoulders, I acknowledge that I feel tension and then I immediately start to relax. I don't spiral out of control and into a full blown attack like before. I think that it has worked greatly, along with the meds of course. Give it a shot...what do you have to lose!

Last week I went to a hypnotherapist. She did not hypnotise me because she took a full history first. She will hypnotise me next week. She has given me a cd to take home with me to listen to everyday. It runs for 30 mins & basically it sends me into a trance & she gives me positive thoughts. She also says that my mind is relaxed open to allowing lost memories to come forward. This she said is a preparation for next week in which she will take me back into my childhood. She said that everysingle phobia can be traced back to something (even if we think it is a small trivial thing). The really amazing thing is that after listening to the cd a few times now, positive thoughts have been popping up into my head. And even more amazing is some long forgotton memories have popped up into my head. For instance, being trapped on an elevator when I was only 3. Being trapped in a basement in the pitch dark when I was 5 (we were visiting friends, & their young sons who were older than me decided to play a trick on me, ran upstairs locked the door & turned the lights out) I remember now panicking and screaming & in my confusion I fell against a very hot boiler & burnt my arm.) I was screaming & finally their parents heard me & came to my rescue!! There is some other memories too which have popped up. I think that this is amazing. Anyway my question to all of you is have any of you tried hypnotherapy? If so, what did you think? I would love to hear your stories.
