Hi Randy, I'm probably not the best person to ask. We live right across the street from the beach, we love living here. The Grand Tetons sound wonderful, but from your post, it sounds as though you have at least 2 things going against your plans: 1)The relatively long journey may aggravate your OCD disorder. How long will you actually be able to enjoy the trip while there, given the round trip? I'd hate to hear you had to turn around and no one enjoy a vacation. 2)your wife sounds like she doesn't want to go. Believe me, "if momma ain't happy, ain't nobody happy". Could the family make a compromise to a third destination? Say 400-500 miles instead? Give the kids a vote, too. Given the choice you already have, not everyone will be happy. Hope this helps you. Hi Della and Others, To Della and Others, I need your advice. I want to take my family to the Grand Tetons (1,000 miles from home) my wife wants to go to the beach (100) miles from home. My OCD gets exacerbated when I travel so does my anxiety. I admit going to the Grand Tetons would be more stressful on me and the family(compared to the beach) but I want to explore and show my kids something new. The beach is old stuff too me? Any comments on this conflict? My wife has already agreed to go to the Rand Tetons (relunctunly).
